La gran Orquesta Típica CIUDAD BAIGÓN
Julián Bruno (canto)

12 hungry musicians come from Buenos Aires to heat up the floor for us.

In its formation CIUDAD BAIGÒN show up as a classic "grán orquesta típica" with 4 bandoneon, 3 violins, viola, cello, bass, piano and singer, founded by Hernán Cabrera.

In their music work they are not satisfied with a perfect copy of the old tango masters. They are also looking for the language of Tango today - demanding grooves and powerful rhythms, that hits the dancers with the same courage like the expressive feelings in the soft-melodic canto by the insistent voice of Julián Bruno. Directly to our hearts and legs.

Classical arrangements, original and own compositions.

Annapaola Jacomella (Cello)
&
Michael Zisman (Bandoneon)

With Annapaola Jacomella and Michael Zisman we will hear a very special and intimate concert. The dialogue between two instruments on their highest level - beauty and sensibility, power and tenderness - but also the very old game between man and woman - lte's enjoy it!

Michael Zisman is one of the youngest and most accalaimed bandoneon players in europe. At the age of 11 years he performed together with such Tangolegends as Leopoldo Federico and Atilio Stampone in 1993. After graduation from his studies in Argentina and Switzerland. He continued to perform all-over the world with an extensive tango and jazz repertoire. He is known as an extraordinary musician in the music of Astor Piazzolla. As a soloist he has performed among others with: the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Swiss Jazz Orchestra, the Berne Symphony, the Jad Sharif Chamber Orchestra, the Basel Chamber Orchstra and the Camerata Zurich.

Michael is one of the very few musicians who is able to use his Bandoneon in free improvised jazz, what means a specific challenge playing in instrument with such a chaotic keyboard like a Bandoneon has.

extravagant combination of steps raise to a dramatic climax They dance briskly, precise and mind-blowing, their performance - an explosion!

Their shows (cue: soccer tango) in Café Tango 2007 remain unforgotten. (see videos).

After many years of waiting we were finally able to invite Sabrina & Rubén again to Wuppertal.

In their workshops we know them as sympathic teachers who call wit and charm their own. Their good mood is contagious and foundation of a concentrated work.

surely again with us as wonderful couple as they are - sinuously moves, cat-like and intensive.

They belong to the fearless renovators of the Tango, melted elements of all styles. Unforgettable their excessive success with the improvisation on "Stairway to heaven" by Led Zeppelin.

Gaia & Leandro give workshops and dance their show on festival sunday at Café ADA.

"INSIDEOUT, - my Light, my Shadow, - Tango"
thats how they call their new interactive performance.

Together with lightartist Theresa Sokolowski they developed this performance exclively for the festival opening on thurday at Café ADA.

Isabella & Iwan are well known for their authentic improvisations - the ability to become one with the moment und to transform this feeling into dance.

the shelter of a defined choreography will be left, even the clear roles of leading and beeing led are anulled - the moment is the choreography - seduction is mutually - risk is capricious.

Isabella & Iwan present a light-performance at festivals thurday at Café ADA.

Christine Träger (Alexander technique)

The Alexander Technique gives a working knowledge of the principles which govern human coordination, helps to modify postural habits and redirects excessive effort into useful energy. Alexander Technique encourages natural ease and flexibility through regaining deep structural support. An opportunity for Tango-dancers to be accompanied into spaciousness and fluid flexibility. Tango-dancers can learn to be more awake to themselves and to the dancing partners.
Beate Brück & Dirk Steinkamp (Feldenkrais)

Tango Argentino invites to sensitive contact with your partner and improvised movement in the music. The Feldenkrais Method enhances your body perception and improves your movability. As your movements become easier, clearer and more pleasant your dancing becomes more relaxed, joyful and intense. Tango and Feldenkrais – an ideal couple!
